New River Electrical Announces Appointments/Promotions

Succession Plan defines a path forward for NRE

CLOVERDALE, VIRGINIA – Today, the New River Electrical Board of Directors announces the planned retirements of Robert B. Arritt, Jr., President and CEO of New River Electrical and Johnny E. Lanning, Sr. VP/Operations – Cloverdale, effective February 5, 2024.  In light of their upcoming retirements the following appointments have been made:

Effective immediately, Ike Poe is promoted to Chief Operating Officer of New River Electrical.  After graduating from Lincoln Memorial University with a degree in Business and an internship with New River Electrical in 2004, Mr. Poe joined NRE in July 2005 as an Estimating Assistant.  Throughout the years, Poe worked his way through the ranks holding positions as an Estimator, Project Manager, Division Manager of Overhead Line, VP of Overhead Line, and Sr VP Operations – Westerville.

In addition to Ike Poe’s appointment, the following promotions were also announced effective May 2, 2022:

  • Jacob G. Grice is promoted to Sr. VP Operations – Westerville, Director, and Trustee of New River Electrical
  • Damien J. Phillips is promoted to VP Overhead Line
  • Stephen R. Adkins is promoted to Division Manager, Substations – Westerville

Finally, with the impending retirement of Mr. Lanning, the Board of Directors will conduct an executive search to fill the Sr. VP of Operations – Cloverdale position.
