Project Spotlight: Hurricane Irma Storm Restoration

New River Electrical Corp played a vital role in the power restoration efforts following Hurricane Irma.  Florida Power and Light was confronted with a daunting restoration effort after losing service to over 4 million customers.  New River Electrical deployed 32 Ohio-based distribution line crews to assist the customer.

In total, NRE employees worked over 30,000 man-hours restoring power throughout southern Florida from West Palm Beach to Naples.  While coping with the hostile Florida heat and working rigorous 16-hour days, NRE line crews worked safely and returned home injury free on September 25th, 2017.
