An experienced industry leader to make the push towards western expansion.
CLOVERDALE, VIRGINIA – Effective Thursday, January 9th, 2025, the New River Electrical Board of Directors announces the appointment of Jonathan R. Askins as the new regional Vice President of Western Operations.
“Jon brings an impressive skillset along with an ideal background of experiences & relationships which align with our western expansion initiatives,” stated Ike Poe, President and CEO of New River Electrical Corporation. “Jon’s commitment and prioritization of a system and process mindset will prove to be pivotal as we expand and balance our organization.”
Jon brings over two decades of experience in the Western U.S. power construction industry. Throughout his career, Jon has been instrumental in driving profitable growth in a variety of markets, including OH & UG Transmission, Multi-year Distribution Programs, Substations, and Renewables. He has spearheaded initiatives that enhanced operational efficiencies and reduced costs, firmly establishing him as a leader in our industry. Most recently, Jon was Senior Vice President of Operations for Rokstad Power.
“Throughout the years, Jon has built a reputation of integrity, earning the trust of several utility partners including SCE, PG&E, LADWP & HECO,” stated Joseph Ebersbach, Vice President of Strategic Initiatives for New River Electrical. “Jon’s experience, leadership and commitment to operational excellence will help New River accelerate the pace of entry to this strategic market and establish a more significant presence in the West Region.”
