Experienced safety and risk specialist to lead New River’s Injury-Free initiative.
CLOVERDALE, VIRGINIA – Effective Wednesday, January 8th, 2025, the New River Electrical Board of Directors announces the appointment of Jennifer Langley, CRIS, MLIS, as the new Vice President of Safety and Risk. In this newly consolidated role, Jennifer will strategically lead and manage both the Safety and Risk departments. Jennifer will now report to Ike Poe, President/CEO, as it relates to Safety, and Laura L. Volpini, EVP of Enterprise Shared Services, as it relates to Risk. Langley takes on this role as the leader of the Safety Department. New River Electrical thanks Chuck Kidd for his years of service and wishes him the best in his future endeavors.

Before being appointed VP of Safety and Risk, Jennifer had worked in various roles throughout her 17-year tenure at New River. “In fact, Jennifer has significant knowledge of, and experience in, safety as she spent over 12 years working in the NRE Safety department before being promoted to Director of Risk Management in February 2022 and then more recently to VP of Risk and Compliance in August 2024” stated Laura L. Volpini, Executive Vice President of Enterprise Shared Services.
When asked about the new position, Jennifer stated, “I am both honored and excited to take on the role of Vice President of Safety & Risk at New River Electrical Corporation. Throughout my career here, I have been inspired by the dedication and values that our leadership and team bring to creating a safe and secure environment for all.
