Since 1953, New River Electrical has established itself as a best-in-class electrical contractor with diverse expertise serving customers in the Mid-West, Mid-Atlantic, and nationally on large specialty and design/build projects. Our crew of over 1,100 employees is registered to conduct business in 38 states, the District of Columbia, and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

A Partnership Since 1986
Since 1986, New River Electrical has been providing Underground Residential Distribution (URD) services to our customers in the greater Columbus metropolitan area as well as many rural communities across Ohio. This work includes subdivision backbone construction and residential secondary service installations, primary cable replacement via directional boring, utility maintenance and faulted cable repairs, and until recently, cable injection. In the urban Network Distribution centers of Columbus and Canton, New River Electrical has replaced over 275,000 circuit feet of Butyl-Rubber secondary cable and 50,000 circuit-feet of Lead Primary cable. In addition, 280,000 circuit-feet of station exit cable have been installed/replaced. Our Network Distribution crews also provide the knowledge and expertise to repair/replace network transformers and protectors.

We have capabilities to prepare the infrastructure, such as digging and installing duct banks and manholes, to working alongside the utility to install cables and components. Our experienced underground technicians can provide the supervision, craft skills, tools and construction equipment to safely and productively install turnkey underground installations up to 34.5kv in both urban and residential settings. Whatever your city needs, we’ve got the expertise to do it right.

Over the past decade, we have worked in numerous cities like Columbus, Ohio, and Roanoke, Virginia, to upgrade their underground network systems all while upholding our strenuous safety standards. In our 67 year tenure, we have established a reputation of providing high-quality supervision, excellent workmen, and on time and well-built projects all at a reasonable cost while having 90% of our annual business continuing from repeat customers. We build trusted relationships with all our customers so that they can lean on us in all aspects of their project.
