New River mourns the loss of former Corporate Secretary

It is with great sadness that we must note the passing of New River’s former Corporate Secretary and Safety Director, Mrs. Dianne A. Sink. Dianne’s career spanned over thirty-five (35) years from 1969 to her retirement in December 2004. Dianne began her career here as receptionist, was promoted to Safety Director in 1986. In addition to her responsibilities as Safety Director she was promoted to officer status in1988 as Secretary of the Corporation. It was also at this time that she was elected to the Board of Directors, on which she served until her retirement. Dianne will be remembered for many reasons. But most fondly, for her work in preparing and coordinating some of New River’s most important moments, our Supervisor’s Meetings and Conferences. These were many of our most joyous times, which culminated in our fiftieth anniversary celebration at the Hotel Roanoke in May 2003. Dianne is survived by her husband Dickie, her son Rock, her father Taylor Elmo Angell, her sister and brother-in-law Bonnie and Ken Spangler, and a brother-in-law Cecil D. Sink. We thank her family for sharing her with us. We thank Dianne for her undying love and loyalty. In other words, “for always bleeding New River green.”
