The New River Electrical team participated in the Virginia Adopt A Highway program on Old Route 604 in front of corporate headquarters in Cloverdale, Virginia. New River’s road adoption was spearheaded by Michael Sawchuk and Karen Switzer in order to keep the roadway leading to the office looking nice while encouraging employee camaraderie.
New River Electrical adopted Old Route 604 in 2010. Since then, members of the Cloverdale office have picked up trash along the road quarterly. Office employees from all departments and divisions join together to complete the task at hand. After a clean-up, Ms. Switzer reports the number of trash bags collected and the number of volunteers to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).
